2013 IYAS LITERARY CONTEST WINNERS

The University of St. La Salle is pleased to announce the winners of the IYAS Literary Contest in Hiligaynon Poetry and One-Act-Play sponsored by the IYAS Creative Writing Program of the University of St. La Salle in cooperation with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).

For the Hiligaynon Poetry Category, first place goes to Jonathan Davila of Bacolod City for his entry “Mas Maayo nga ang Tawo Wala sang Pakpak ukon Hasang.” He will receive a cash prize of P 10,000. Second place goes to Gil S. Montinola of Mina, Iloilo for his entry “Tinaga kag Iban Pa nga mga Binalaybay.” He will receive a cash prize of P 7,500. Third place goes to Marcel Milliam of Mandurriao, Iloilo for his entry, “Pagsagap Kanimo kag iban pa nga mga Binalaybay.” He will receive a cash prize of P 5,000.

Norman T. Darap of Tubungan, Iloilo is the first place winner in the Hiligaynon One-Act Play Category for his entry, “Handum.” He will receive a cash prize of P 10,000. Second place goes to Fundador Tipon II of Villamonte, Bacolod City for his entry, “Palad.” He will receive a cash prize of P 7,500. Third place goes to Aurea Lynne G. Paz for her entry, “Red Lipstick.” She will receive a cash prize of P 5,000.

The awarding ceremony will be held on August 29, at 4:30 pm at the University of St. La Salle, Bacolod City. The winners will be asked to read their winning entries.

The members of the board of judges are Dr. Elsa M. Coscolluela of University of St. La Salle, Dr. Genevieve L. Asenjo of De la Salle University, and Prof. John Iremil Teodoro of Miriam College.
