Heard about Takuri Cafe from friends. So I decided to hold my lunch meeting there last Monday. I reserved through their Facebook page and received a prompt reply and confirmation.
It is located at Cuartero in Jaro. I flagged a cab from SM City and in less than 10 minutes we were there. With or without GPS, not hard to find. The neighborhood evoked the familiar yet fast-disappering “laid-back mood” of the city and so it was a welcome respite from the urbanized Diversion Road.
It serves Asian cuisines like laksa, nasi lemak, nasi goreng, fresh rolls; Malaysian coffee, and traditional Filipino desserts.
I was happy to had my fill of crabs.
Reasonable price. Homey, and intimate as it is small. They call the owner-chef Tita Daisy. I was shy to introduce myself so we had no exchange of pleasantries. Maybe next time.
The place served my purpose, we enjoyed the dishes, and lingered for a while – I’m coming back.
The place looks so cozy, and the food looks amazing! I hope you had more pictures, though. I’ll be visiting Iloilo soon. I might squeeze this into my itinerary 😀
